Digitizing Sectors For Competitiveness
On December 14, a conference named “ICT for SMEs: Bridging divide to foster digital transformation” was held. It was part of the RECONOMY project “Digitizing sectors for competitiveness”, aimed at advancing the digital transformation in tourism, agriculture, and manufacturing sectors in the Eastern Partnership countries. This conference, organized by the Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO, brought together representatives from the agriculture, tourism, and IT sectors of Armenia, Georgia, and Moldova, as well as government officials from these countries.
RECONOMY is an inclusive and green economic development program of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation in partnership with Strategic Development Agency NGO and others in the Eastern Partnership and the Western Balkan regions.
During the conference, in the scope of "Digitizing sectors for competitiveness" project, RuralCoop Support Foundation along with Farm Credit Armenia UCO CC signed an agreement with the Strategic Development Agency to implement a 3 year initiative called 'Sustain-Grow: Advancing Agriculture through Inclusive Digital Finance’. This dynamic collaboration will bring together key market actors—FCA, RuralCoop, agricultural input and service suppliers, rural producers, and farmers. So the innovative solution is designed to revolutionize the loan application process for farmers, providing immediate access to hassle-free financing for essential agricultural purchases which will be possible through digital tool at agricultural supply shops. This tool not only simplifies the loan application process but also ensures that farmers can promptly secure the agricultural products they need to kickstart their agricultural activities.
